ANALISIS EXISTING CONDITION PERMINTAAN DAN PENAWARAN TENAGA KERJA DI INDONESIA

Abstract


Demand and supply of labor condition that relatively balanced will lead to relatively low levels of unemployment that occur so it can make the economy more stable. Achieving the balance of demand and supply of labor is determined by the level of wages. Therefore, the minimum wage policy to be defined precisely so that it can have a positive impact for the realization of the balance of the labor market.
Based on available data, unemployment in Indonesia are likely to decline during 2006-2014; the average growth of the female workforce larger than males but the proportion of the male workforce is greater than the female; primary sector employment is still the main majority of the Indonesian population; employment elasticity is inelastic; LFPR positive growth gives a sense of optimism the expansion of employment opportunities and decrease the unemployment rate in Indonesia; in absolute terms, the number of unemployed men more at the Senior High School level and the lower education level while the number of unemployed women more at higher education level; The most proportion of open unemployment is the seek employment and despair category; wages negatively correlated with labor demand and positively correlated with labor supply.
