Abstract


There has been growing considerable interest in the field around a new construct of leadership, referred to as authentic leadership. Scholars conducting researches on this field contend that the decrease in ethical leadership (corporate scandals & management malfeasance) necessitates the need for positive leadership more so than in any conditions. This literature review tries to clarifying the state of knowledge in the field start from the construct’s definition, measurement, until the problem faced by this construct. This article draws attention to the methodological issues with the hope of insuring that any development initiatives that are implemented are practical and effective for leader and organization.
