THE ROLE OF BMT AS AN ALTERNATIVE FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS

Abstract


One of the many financial institutions are basing all their activities on the
principles of interest-free Shariah is the Baitul Mall wa Tamwil (BMT).
Because the current cooperatives and SMEs have difficulty accessing capital
sources, especially the banking besides the general role of strategic BMT.
The role of BMT is coaching and financing system based on sharia, in
addition to the difficulties that meet 5C the requirements loan of banking,it
also caused the increasing number of BMT in Banyumas district.
This study aims to examine the role of BMT as an alternative financial
institution and to analyze the health of Baitul Maal wal Tamwil (BMT) both
health institutions and financial. This study is a review of case studies in
seven BMT Sun in Banyumas. (BMT Dana Mentari Pasar Pon, BMT Dana
Mentari Sumbang, BMT Dana Mentari Patikraja, BMT Dana Mentari Pasar
Manis, BMT Dana Mentari Kembaran, BMT Mentari Mersi,
BMT Dana Mentari Tambak)
The results showed that BMT is an alternative financial institution that
can serve the members with easy, inexpensive and fast. To obtain financing
Rp 100,000, - down the members or business partners simply fill out loan
application form followed by a review of the location without requiring
additional collateral. Administrative costs up 2.5 percent, while for the
results imposed by 1.5 to 2.5 percent with a decision within 1-3 days.
Additionally BMT Market Pon always ranks first in terms of number of
assets, the value of financing, number of members, prospective members and
business partners.
